A regulated profession is a profession for which a specific professional qualification and/or membership of a professional organisation is required in order to enter and pursue the profession. Therefore, it is recommended that you verify the status of your profession before requesting a statement of comparability from the ENIC-NARIC France centre.
For those who hold a qualification obtained in the European Economic Area and Switzerland
Directive 2005/36/EC
Directive 2005/36/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 7 September 2005 on the recognition of professional qualifications came into effect on 20 October 2007. The objective of this directive is the abolition, as between Member States, of obstacles to the free movement of persons and services. For nationals of the Member States, this includes, in particular, the right to pursue a profession in a Member State other than the one in which they have obtained their professional qualifications.
The European Commission developed a database that includes, in particular, information on regulated professions and the competent authorities in the European Union Member States, the countries of the European Economic Area and Switzerland.
