The Olympic and Paralympic Games in French Class

In the run up to the Paris 2024 Olympic (26 July-11 August) and Paralympic Games (28 August-8 September), LISEO, an online documentary portal, offers a selection of thematic resources.

Available free of charge online and suited to all ages, this educational, teaching, and fun content allows you to discover this sporting event. Coming from French and French-speaking institutional sites, the various types of media include podcasts, videos and websites (sources include the Ministry of National Education, CNOSF – The French National Olympic and Sports Committee – , TV5Monde, RFI, CAVILAM-Alliance française, International Olympic Committee in Switzerland, CREFECO – French-speaking regional centre for Central and Eastern Europe – in Bulgaria).

Intended for teachers of French as a foreign language (FLE) and non-language subjects (DNL), the thematic resources aim to promote the use of French in a sporting context, to develop students’ linguistic skills and to enrich their knowledge of the Olympic and Paralympic Games, while discovering the values of sport. It offers a global approach to the Games, a historical perspective, fun activities, portraits of athletes and resources for teaching FLE.
